Joslyn Brown has a Doctorate of Pharmacy from Creighton University in Omaha, NE and moved to Charlotte with her family in 2014. Much of her pharmacist career has been focused on patient education and managing complex medication regimens, especially in patients who have received an organ transplant. Joslyn, along with her husband Colby, opened Blue Flowers in 2019 with the intent to provide high quality hemp products and education in a welcoming environment. Joslyn's own CBD journey started while she was looking for alternatives to prescription medicine to treat her Crohn's disease. Since then, she has delved into the world of cannabinoids to learn as much as possible, reduce stigma, and find a way to share the information with other patients.
CEO, The Apothecarry Brands, Inc
Inspired by a lack of stylish, safe cannabis storage systems and a disdain for storing medicine in a shoebox, Apothecarry Brands CEO Whitney Beatty is a successful entertainment industry executive turned cannabis storage designer that’s spearheading her quickly growing start-up.
The brand seeks to redefining the image of cannabis users who take pride and pleasure in their stash, while filling a hole in the marijuana paraphernalia market for everyone from the attorneys who tokes after their high powered workday, to the “stiletto stoners” who are hosting ladies night, to the seniors using medication for health benefits and everyone in between who demands the best in all things.
Her company Apothecarry was selected for the first cohort of Canopy San Diego cannabis business accelerator, won the ArcView Groups 2017 Los Angeles pitch prize and was selected at the Fall 2017 Pipeline LA portfolio company. Apothecarry closed her seed round in 2017.
Whitney is an advocate for women and women of color in the cannabis space,
and has spoken extensively on her experiences bootstrapping to MVP, females fundraisers in the cannabis space and cannabis social equity. She has been
featured on “On Second Thought” with Trevor Noah, a panelist at SXSW, and
featured in Entrepreneur, Forbes, Inc, NYT, LA Times, Vice, Dope and The
Hollywood Reporter amongst others.
